Blue Sky No wind and I am sure it was freezing all day.

If Carlsberg made snow days then they would of made today!
Full coverage of snow everywhere inside and outside the marked runs. Pisted areas were mostly nice grippy snow with some scoured hard areas on steeper pitches. Pretty fantastic really. Double thumbs up from the Neafearjustbeers

AM: blue sky, bright sunshine, almost no wind, around -2C in car park on arrival.
PM: still bright but more cloud towards end of day.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Excellent cover. All runs complete to full width. Deep in places. Most runs giving good, groomed riding. Hard snow to begin with but soon softening to give superb conditions.

More exposed sections had large drifts of soft windblown snow.

Main lifts open: Eagle, Grouse, Osprey, Snowy Owl. Falcon did not open despite being marked 'opening'. Buzzard did open around 2pm after being teased for hours by the piste basher doing laps of the tow and runs.

Best runs were the Buzzard, with some great fun crusty snow on the off piste areas.

Very quiet - road to South still closed. Drive with care from the North.

First skiing at The Lecht for 8ish years. The only thing which would improve it would be Irn Bru in the cafe : )

A few snow showers and low cloud with poor visibility at times down to under 20m approx. Got worse later on. There were periods with better vis in the morning, but it the snow conditions more than made up for the flat light.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Fantastic snow cover. I've now skied all 5 areas in the past couple of weeks and only Cairngorms is on a par with these surface conditions. Not a single rock or icy scraped section on any of the runs. We did all the open runs excluding beginner areas. Lovely soft fresh dusting of snow on top of a firm base. Some more powdery sections in places. Great on piste and off the side of some fences. The Falcon had lovely soft fresh snow.

This was our first ever time skiing the Lecht. While I agree it's definitely the "softer" of the areas for difficulty of the runs, I was really impressed with the facilities, infrastructure and the extremely helpful friendly staff. Also a pleasure to see the snow conditions perfectly matched how they had described them on their website!

We gave up at 3pm due to the increasingly flat light and low cloud, but the weather definitely didn't dampen the fun. If the snow stays like this and the weather brightens up, I'll be back to the Lecht next week to see what it looks like in the sunshine!
