All runs open apart from buzzard (unless u hike up) can board anywhere u want.piste v gd & off piste offering stashes of powder.surprisingly not busy.great 1st day of the season!!

Clear skies, slight cloud build-up as day went on. Slight breeze. Temperature registering -5C in the car park.

Great day for first day of the season, half of the centre's runs were open (Eagle side). Packed, dry powder on open runs - very enjoyable. Limited off piste due to scoured areas but good base to build on as more snow builds up. More runs should be open tomorrow as piste bashers were working. We noted when on the snowy owl that the Magic Carpet was being deiced!

Bluebird and still below the exposed top of the lifts

Between 15-30cm has fallen on the sheltered slopes of the Lecht. Other than a full compliment of trainer tows, Eagle 1 and Grouse Pomas were the only uplift. Where groomed the snow was excellent machine packed winter snow however elsewhere in the ski area it was a mixture of wind packed snow near fences and sheltered areas and icy crust elsewhere.

If it stays cold and with another snowfall, many of the remaining areas without sufficient cover could open.

Bluebird! Warm, calm and sunny with a sunburnt nose to prove it...

Firm with icy patches at first but soon became soft spring snow. Very quiet with only 1 row of cars in the car park but still most lifts running. Spent the last couple of hours with the runs off the eagle entirely to myself!
