:: Tour Route(s) or Location Skied/Ridden
Start and finish at Auchavan in Glen Isla. Up Glen Cally and Sron Deirg to Mayar. Back over Bawhelps, Tarmach Cairn and Mid Hill.
:: Weather Conditions
Cloud and sunny intervals in the morning, and then lovely bright sunshine for the descent.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Skis on almost at the car. Excellent snow cover on all west-facing slopes (almost full cover down to 400m). Very good, powdery snow for the descent - particularly good from Mid Hill (774m) to the base of the hill at 400m. Might even describe it as some of the best snow we've skied on in Scotland.

Biked up Glenisla to the very top of the Glen to check out some lines. Seeing as the "banana couloir" leading into ceanlochan glen was in bad nick (plus lacked snow lower down) we opted for a route into Canness Glen. Hiked up beside the zig-zag path to the plateau. Proceed across to the South of Cairn of Claise before cruising down to a gully we'd scoped out earlier.
:: Weather Conditions
Sun : )
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Great spring snow. Looked to be good cover towards Garbh coire. Sporadic to the south. Had to do some grass hopping to get down to valley floor.

Driesh from Glen Prosen. The first issue was driving up the road. In places the only guide to where the road should be was the fence at the side and it and the road were invisible with spindrift at times. Movement was hampered by the strong winds and extra hard ice on the upper slopes.
:: Weather Conditions
50-60mph Northerly wind from 450m upwards. Generally reasonable vis above spindrift. When I took my hat off it felt like I had my head in a bucket of iced water, say windchill of -25. No photos from higher up due to camera freezing.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Deep windblown on lower slopes. Large areas of hard ice (at times taking full weight on points of harscheisen without entering snow/ice) for 1km higher up and knobbly ice for last few hundred metres (distance). Scotsec@eagleskiclub.org.uk
