Lovely!
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Natures own piste machine had been doing its stuff over the last few days on the high Fells. Raise's snow fences and natural hollows had caught the elusive snow perfectly, creating smooth wind blown 'blasting' runs at the top and fast spring snow/grass at the bottom.

Excellent and rare day shared by 8 club members : -)

:: Weather Conditions
Windy in morning, but easing in the afternoon. Intermittent sunshine with cloud base above the slopes. Good visibility. Freezing level around 800m, falling in late afternoon.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Snow cover better than at the weekend, but thin towards the bottom apart from the drift lines next to the fences. Large patches could be linked with a thin cover of ice and old snow covering the rocks and grass over most of the hill. Best skiing was on Presidents which was complete but narrow in places. Other runs possible with care, including Savages, Outer Mongolia and L'eau Noir. Snow was spring at the base, powdery at the top, and a rather challenging 'crusty' in the middle for a time ;-)

:: Weather Conditions
Cloudy overhead, windy at times, starting to snow hard by the end of the day. Visibility not too bad out of the spindrift.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Good drifts near fences, but also scoured areas of ice and thin re-frozen old snow. Most opted to off-load at tower 5 and ski Savages gulley. Tow track incomplete higher-up due to wind scouring, although exposed rocks were covered in ice so not such a problem for ski bases. Large drifts along the side of Presidents, but not quite complete enough to make it skiable (see pic). More snow and a change of wind direction overnight improved cover enough to make it skiable on Sunday though.

Not quite the day promised by the forecast, but we did get some brigher spells and views, just above freezing I guess.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
This tow is operated by the Lake District Ski Club, new members are made very welcome, see contact details in the forum thread for Lake District conditions. The single lift serves a good range of terrain and there were plenty of options for great riding today on a firm base with a good surface of fresh snow. Slight technical problem with lift seems to be sorted, but check snow line for Sunday to see if it will run as the forecast is not great.
