Fine bright clear day. Breezy, and started to snow lightly at end of afternoon. Good visibility till snow came in.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Limitied terrain with new snow. No uplift running, being prepared to open on Saturday. - I hiked Carn Aosda, where the best cover appeared to be found, and traversed to Butcharts, able to ski to carpark via Plastic slope if careful about stones in thin cover.

Staff working all day to get carpark snow (lots of it) harvested & spread on pistes. - Butcharts area being prepared, and uptracks pisted. Butcharts run best width & quality. Couldn't be seen from road, so nobody else tried it.

A handful of boarders on lower patches, but no other skiers seen this afternoon. - My Private piste !!

Glenshee really trying to get the runs ready using all available snow, and even thin runs pisted to help hold new snow expected. - Hope the gamble pays off. - Well done.

Mostly dry with a few light snow showers. Otherwise largely bright and sunny. Strong winds on tops, but sheltered elsewhere. Freezing level appeared to be around 2500ft judging by the quality of snow!

Glenshee's reports are generally spot on, with the Cairnwell side closed, with the exception of Claybokie. On the Sunnyside - side the following lifts were running. Sunnyside 2, Tom Dereg, MO Poma, Beag, Ceanlochan, CF1, Glas Moal. Sunnyside and TG are complete, but only just - becoming very patchy and brown near the bottom. The TG tow track is only one mild day away from being lost I think. The Cluny pomas could run with a little patching up. Sunnyside towtrack is ok, the run is hanging on by a thread. There is superb sport on the runs served by Ceanlochan poma, a run which I've never actually skied in it's totality before today.

CF run is good, and the CF bowl also is giving some fun skiing. Glas Moal is loaded along the summit run and both the red and black runs are complete although a little hopping is required over the last few meters - nothing to stop you howver.

The snow started off hard,and softened during the day, the upper slopes remaining fairly hard, but not icy, the lower slpoes, including the lower CF runs were starting to turn to heavy sugar by around 3pm. All in all a great day, and VERY quiet - where was everyone!?!??

The MWIS forecast said 90% chance of cloud free munros (!!) and they were right! Some cloud, but mainly sunny all day long! Generally cold day, paticularly in the moderate northerly wind on the top of Glas Maol.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Cairnwell side closed, looks like there's not a great deal of snow over there although I most of the main tracks looked ok. Plastic slope totally broken though!

Lower down Sunnyside was thin/narrow in places but still a really nice run on great spring snow. Cluny runs are narrow/bit broken and so they didn't bother running the tows (exit via Tom Dearg).

The real cover was Meall Odhar, Corie Fionn & Glas Maol. Unforutnately there was a lot of ice about despite fresh snow overnight. Coire Fionn Gully was nice but hard to negotiate near the bottom. Glas Maol / Meal Odhar very icy even in the afternoon.

But the winner was the red run by the Fionn tows. This was in fantastic shape and was a joy to ski all day long. Indeed, that's what most people seemed to do! Nevertheless, the place was so empty that there was still no queues anywhere!

Despite limited terrain still a great day - so get out there and support the ski centres!

Fantastic! Sunny with a few snow flurries.
The risk paid off - well worth the drive up from Liverpool : -)
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Good cover on Glas Maol and in Coire Fionn. Lower slopes had a few holes and were very soft.
Good spring snow on the higher slopes with some fresh on top. Later in the day the sunny slopes turned into Sierra Cement. Cairnwell wasn't open, but no queues.
