A much less wild day than Saturday, though still a fair bit of drifting going on at the top of the Ptarmigan Tow - looked like it should have been blowing snow into the Ciste Mhearaidh this afternoon.
The fresh snow fall on Saturday and showers during Sunday kept things fresh and though the terrain remains limited to the Top Basin and Coire Cas there is decent sliding on offer. Would just like more of the mountain to ride!
Top Basin is in good shape and with fairly settled weather for the next couple of days will be a great place for learning and progressing onto longer lift served green runs. The West Wall Poma was open on Sunday, loading at the bottom of the Ciste Fairway, which eased the pressure on the Ciste T-bar.
As mentioned in Friday's report the Traverse is hugely improved from a week ago and there is a good run from the top of the Ptarmigan Tow to the Sheiling giving 1300ft of vertical descent. The Zig Zags are fully complete into the Cas loading area for those wishing to avoid the Gunbarrel, the link from mid Zig Zags to Gunbarrel is also available.
The Cas mini-park as 2 boxes, 2 rails and a kicker. The Ptarmigan Park has 5 rails, a box and a tyre jib.
The White Lady was seeing some action, but its very narrow, thin and baseless and probably requires some grass skiing/heather hoping, though it undoubtedly had more snow than the Carpark Runs which was seeing a fair bit of combat skiing back to the Daylodge on Sunday afternoon.
