Report
A selection of photos from Helen Rennie and Sandy McBain from Thursday, there are more in the Public Reports.
Though the West has caught heavier and more prolonged snow fall and showers, CairnGorm has not missed out and with high winds there has been significant drifting giving large drifts on some higher fenced runs.
Helen claimed her 26th consecutive month of sliding on CairnGorm Mountain today and it was possible to skin up the 105, Traverse and on up the Ptarmigan Traverse and Marquis Wells.
The Ptarmigan Traverse has good accumulations of wind blown snow and the Ptarmigan Tow was barred up on Thursday. More snow, but also more wind forecast as we go into the weekend, however Sunday may not be quite so stormy. Watch this space, Meteorological winter begun today, the snowsports season is hopefully not far behind.
