A weak cold front pushed South overnight giving a light covering of new snow to add to the mid-week fresh. Light snow showers coming in through the morning and early afternoon interspersed with brighter spells, then the skies cleared to blue late afternoon to give a fine dusk.
The modest accumulations of fresh snow have made a big difference to the surface conditions particularly on the regularly pisted trails with good sport for all ability levels.
The Top Basin is in fantastic shape, a further layer of fresh on the well groomed slopes. Ptarmigan Bowl is in perfect condition for novices while the Ciste Tow gives longer greens for early intermediates.
Though the bottom section of Burnside below the upper Daylodge bridge got very scrapped, there is still Top to Daylodge riding on offer - but exit over the top bridge for the Funicular or DLP.
The mid-mountain has a fantastic base and there is some great snowsports on offer. When freshly pisted it's like machine packed powder over the firm base. White Lady continues to be the pick for more advanced riders, it's a bit looser under the fresh with the extensive pisting.
The Ciste Gully opened up in the afternoon and is giving decent sport, though the marked traverse out over the West Wall has some thin patched up sections so take care.
There are two terrain parks with a selection of features including the large kicker in the Ptarmigan Bowl. The Fiacaill Park has a couple of rails and less daunting though still decent sized kickers.
