Thanks to 'WindyMiller' for some photos from Good Friday on CairnGorm Mountain. The weather started with bluebird skies and moderate winds, but it was a full on storm by afternoon with gusts to 90mph reported at the tunnel mouth by the scheduled closing time.
The Top Basin runs are all in good shape with firm packed snow, when the weather is behaving they provide good areas for beginners and early intermediates.
Mid-mountain on the Cas side the bulk of the runs are in decent shape, but there is next to no snow outwith the recognised runs. Lady is in good shape for the majority of it's length, but getting back to the M1 Poma is thin. Coire Cas is offering good skiing and the Gunbarrel is still pretty mellow, plenty of snow around the Top Zig Zag to keep at least the top legs of them going for a while.
Ciste Gully and West Wall have decent cover, but the West Wall Poma and approach to it is getting rather ropey. Still possible to ski to the Carpark using the Fiacaill Sideslope and Ridge.
