The recent freeze thaw cycles have further consolidate the snow pack, making for a bullet proof fast surface. The deep numerous drifts are huge and look set for the season... hopefully. With further snow forcast this week the best season in 20 odd years continues in the Lake's

Set of for a quick tour with the snow kite up Clough Head and Great Dodd the Fells just north of the Lake District Ski Cub tow on Raise. Hit the snow at around 300m and kited the few miles over Clough Head (726m) and then up to Great Dodd (857m)
:: Weather Conditions
Great weather in the morning with sunny spells and a 20 m.p.h. westly, cloud base clear of the summits and freezing around 400m. Snow showers and an increasing wind after mid day made for some scary kite runs!
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Fantastic! Above around 500m the days of strong winds and almost constant snow showers have led to drifts of 1m or more common place. Any North/ East facing slope above the snow line are loaded with snow, with gully's and streams filed flat and some fantstic and rare decent lines opened up all over the Lake District for those willing to earn their turns : -)
