Thanks to Helen Rennie and George Paton for today's photos from CairnGorm Mountain, where the weather (and sadly in contrast to just a week ago also the snow cover) was more like summer than mid-March.
The best sport within the area is on the Upper Cas which has a decent width of granular spring snow. The snow is softer in the Top Basin, but there is still ample areas for novices in the Ptarmigan Bowl.
Beyond the lifts the Plateau retains sufficient cover to give plenty of scope for high level touring, and with the superb weather over the course of the weekend, there were plenty of people undertaking various tours.
The Marquis Well gully is complete for a route up to the summit, and even for those without touring kit, it's worth a hike up from the Ptarmigan if the weathers good, to admire the view and get a chance of scenary and enjoy a fine run down this natural snow field back to the terrain park at the top of the Ptarmigan Tow.
See Saturday's 'Gorm pics for photos of rails and the kickers in the Terrain Park.
Finally, experts can pick their way to the Daylodge via the Fiacaill Ridge with care, but this will likely soon start to break up.
If you have been out on the slopes, please send your photos to pix@winterhighland.com .
